The title of today’s blog is the title that we used during my conversation this morning with Pat Baccili on the “Dr. Pat Show” (click on this hotlink and scroll down to the bottom of the page and click to listen).

The shift from the Victim Orientation to a Creator Orientation is nothing less than an upgrade in our “personal operating system.”

One of the “programs” that is dependent on that operating system is the quality and character of our relationships.  The Dreaded Drama Triangle (DDT) is a program that “runs” on the Victim operating system.

Just as we cannot “boot up” a software program designed to run on “Windows ‘95” on a computer that has been upgraded to Windows 7, one who is still moving through life with a Victim and DDT operating system will not be able to “run” TED*.

Once we make “shift happen” and upgrade our operating system to that of a Creator Orientation, then we become capable of running TED* (*The Empowerment Dynamic) as our primary software in our relationships.

That does not mean that we will never fall back into the experience of the DDT.  We will – it is a part of the human experience.  However, with the upgraded operating system, we now have the capacity choose to move from the DDT to the TED* roles.
